Wow.. Livebooks.com is beautiful for photographer portfolios

I am seriously impressed by some of their templates. Really incredible and beautiful designs. The prices are reasonable too. About $3200 for the top package and $800 for the basic package.

If I was a photographer, I would probably just use them.

Check out some amazing fashion photographers.

Latest iPhone 2.x update is HORRIBLE and SLOW

It is one of the worst updates I have seen and it impacts the most important device I have. The hardest thing about the iPhone now is making phone calls. Every action is about 2x or 3x slower. Going to Contacts to get a list of people takes forever. Taking a photo takes forever.

Sometimes the damn thing freezes and you have to wait a second or two for it to come back.

They should put the iPhone to good use by placing it in HORROR movies and show how the characters get killed because their iPhones couldnt dial out, lose signal, or just take too damn long to make a call. It deserves a spot in movies and films for making people get killed.

What’s up with Steve Jobs… man, this iPhone update is rotten to the core, filled with bugs and crap. It might be the beginning of the old Apple. Sub-quality products that dont work and expensive as heck.

Hillsong at Jubilee and Floors were Shaking

Floors were seriously shaking. Ticket were at $22 and the lines were long as heck. The guards kept telling people to leave their cameras out of the “sanctuary”. Wait was a bit longer than expected. Doors were suppose to open at 6pm but they opened it around 6:45pm instead. It was a Tuesday in San Jose near North First Street and 237 freeway. Main singer was Joel Houston (son of Brian Houston – main pastor at Hillsong).

I wasnt really inspired to be honest until the last few songs. The encore songs were the best. “One Way” was the one that got the most applause. That brought me to my feet. Never seen so much energy and passion in a concert before.

Update 9/3/08: Just came across a bunch of internet stories about Hillsong and some controversies. Worth reading definitely… accusations of being a cult.

Electric Bikes are Still Too Expensive

There’s a gallery of electric bikes but I feel electric bikes are still too expensive. It needs to come down more in price if they are going to sell well. Plus major retailers like Target and WalMart needs to stock them because shipping is freaking expensive. What is better? Lithium batteries or lead-acid batteries? I heard the lead-acid retains its charge better over time. However they are heavy suckers.

Ranch 99 Opening in Mountain View on Grant Ave

Ranch 99 sign is up on Grant Ave and it is next to Nob Hill Foods. I went there today and it was still closed. There’s also a Karate studio opening up next to Ranch 99. I guess parking situation will get worse in that plaza. I cant wait for Ranch 99 to open so I can grab stuff at both Nob Hill and Ranch 99 together.

Why Does My Site Get Dropped Down in Google Search After First Few Days

When I write a blog, it gets picked up by Google spider quickly (matter of hours). And I see it in the first few pages of Google Search results. But after a few days, it quickly deteriorates in results and end up further and further back. Why is that? Does it happen to your sites?

Mountain View Sweet Corner Yogurt serves Tart Yogurt (a review)

I just got back from Sweet Corner that’s near Starbucks in Mountain View. They have good tart flavor yogurt there. Great way to cool of the summer heat. They also have a nice sangria as well. TCBY used to be there and they took it over. Today, they had a pet adoption event. Hmm.. Elaine should update the web site a bit.

Ginseng Korean Restaurant on Castro in Mountain View

It recently opened. It’s a korean restaurant and it’s OK. Not sure why they call it Ginseng but I thought the food was merely OK. Not bad by any means. But nothing different than other korean restaurants. Portions were less than other korean restaurants by I was really full anyways. Hmmm… you can cook your ribs at your tables.

James Blunt was awesome at Mountain Winery in Saratoga

Four of us went and got really good seats in Section 11. Right next to him and I saw probably one of the greatest concerts ever. His voice was so good and clear. It sounds exactly like his songs. And everyone was having a hugely great time. Plus it was at the top of the hill in Saratoga. Pure beauty up there at Mountain Winery. Very very good sound system.

Has anyone developed an open source version of Techmeme, Tailrank, Megite, OneSpot, Techfold

Is there anyone who has developed something similiar to any of these services? I really want to start a news site and tried looking for developers in job sites but nobody seems to have the skills to do it. Something using PHP, Linux, mySQL would be ideal. Send email to admin@whoila.com if you know of anything.
